ANROEV Network to Convene Skills Sharing and Capacity Building on OSH and Chemical Safety in Manila
Members of the Asian Network for the Rights of Occupational and Environmental Victims (ANROEV), together with local participants from the Philippines, will gather in Manila on September 13–14, 2025, for a regional skills sharing and capacity-building session on occupational safety and health (OSH) and chemical safety.
The event, titled “RE+Act → Rights, Empowerment & Action: Skills Sharing and Capacity Building on OSH and Chemical Safety,” is hosted by the Institute for Occupational Health and Safety Development (IOHSAD) in collaboration with the Solidarity Center, Asia Monitor Resource Centre (AMRC), and GoodElectronics. Over two days, the session will bring together workers, unions, advocates, and organizations from across Asia to exchange experiences, strengthen advocacy, and develop coordinated strategies to confront chemical-related workplace hazards.
The session will focus on hazardous chemical use in industries such as electronics, garments, agriculture, and chemical manufacturing, and their impacts on workers’ health. It will also build capacity for advocacy on chemical safety, including efforts to ratify ILO Convention 170, strengthen national regulations, and engage with the newly adopted Global Framework on Chemicals.
By gathering in Manila, ANROEV members aim to deepen knowledge, sharpen advocacy tools, and develop coordinated actions to protect workers from chemical hazards and assert that health and safety are fundamental rights.
