2025 Training Manual on Victims Organising

The Asian Network on the Rights of Occupational
and Environmental Victims (ANROEV) has identified the need to incorporate psychosocial support in
its engagement with workers and victims and has commissioned this training manual to address this gap.
Workers have always stood at the front lines of the fight for dignity, fair wages, and safe working conditions. Traditionally, workplace safety focuses on protecting the body, including the use of hard hats, safety guards, clean air, and limits on physical hazards. Today, our understanding has grown. A safe workplace is not only one where the body is protected from injury but also one where the mind is safeguarded from psychological harm. When workers are distressed, traumatised, or unsupported, their health, productivity, and dignity all suffer. Workers have the right to be free from psychological injuries caused by harassment, unsafe conditions, or neglect.
The training manual discusses the fundamentals of workers and victims organising and explores ways to promote labour, environmental, and human rights for/ by ANROEV members. Each section is developed to gradually build knowledge and skills for organising and engaging with victims and survivors, reinforcing the importance and relevance of this topic to our work. This training manual is complemented by ANROEV’s other resources and knowledge products, such as the “OEHS as a victim organising manual,” which is being developed in parallel, compiling various case studies.
