Call for Proposals: Strengthening EHS Capacity (2026 Cycle)

Background and Purpose
For the upcoming 2026 cycle, ANROEV aims to enhance the capacity of its member groups by strengthening the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) stream alongside its core focus on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). Building on the success of 2025 pilots in Nepal and Indonesia, we are seeking to support two member groups in conducting evidence-based EHS pilot projects.
Priority Focus
Projects should prioritize issues related to Chinese investment, specifically Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects in the region. We encourage a “Citizen Science” approach, combining technical monitoring (e.g., air, water, noise) with grassroots organizing.
Core Project Scope
- Methodology: Projects should utilize the “Training Manual on Grassroots Monitoring and Organizing for EHS” published by AMRC.
- Citizen Science: Activities must combine technical monitoring (e.g., PM2.5, pH, TDS, and noise levels) with grassroots mobilization.
- Empowerment: Proposals must include victim empowerment and community outreach components.
- Advocacy: Successful applicants will demonstrate how scientific evidence will be integrated with legal frameworks and digital storytelling to pressure policymakers.
