The Asian Network for the Rights of Occupational and Environmental Victims (ANROEV) stands in solidarity with Aricell workers and demands justice. We demand that S-Connect, the parent company of Aricell, and Samsung be held accountable for their actions and gross neglect of workers’ health and safety rights.
It has been more than two months since the deadly Aricell battery plant fire that killed 23 people – 18 of them migrant workers. The tragedy has been identified as South Korea’s “deadliest industrial disaster for migrant workers.”
ANROEV extends its heartfelt sympathy to the families of the workers who died in this workplace tragedy. It also stands in solidarity with labor groups calling for immediate assistance to the families of the deceased and the injured workers. We demand swift justice for those who lost their lives at work.
